Kim Smarr
My name is Kimberlea Smarr. Yoga came to me about 9 years ago. I have had a daily dedicated practice for 6 years now. In 2008 I traveled to Rishikesh, India to learn more about this practice that became so life changing for me and I also received my 200 hour teacher training certificate. I have been teaching ever since in Johnstown, Milliken and Loveland.
In 2010 I completed an additional 100 hours of training in Boulder, Colorado in Anusara Yoga with Jeanie Manchester. In September of 2010 I appeared in two 1 hour episodes with Sara Kline on www.yogatoday.com. Following that I completed additional teacher training and added 60 more hours in with Jeanie as well. I have 15 hours of advanced therapeutics training with Martin Kirk and offer individual yoga therapy. I will be applying to Yoga Alliance for my E-RYT 200 (Experienced Registered Teacher)which will allow me to conduct teacher trainings in the future since I have over 1000 teaching hours. I will be adding 100 more training hours in the fall of 2011 with Jeanie Manchester for Anusara yoga.
I am so pleased to be working in my community teaching children, teen, seniors, moms, dads and all others that are seeking the benefits of yoga. My philosophy is that yoga is for everyone. From couch potatoes to tri-atheletes. I cater my teaching to allow for modifications as well as to challenge those that seek more. The tantric, heart centered philosophy of Anusara yoga has translated into my teaching style. I feel our bodies hold our "stories" and that because it is tangible we can begin with asana (postures) to explore our stories and decide what the next chapters will look like. I look forward to working with you and our community!
